Giordano debuts on the runways of Philippine Fashion Week with a sneak peek of their Spring Summer 14 collections. This Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the SM Mall of Asia Main Atrium, Giordano’s new collections – Holiday Cruise and Linen Story will bring some fresh summer vibe on the catwalk with 85 looks featuring nautical elements, updated chambrays, summer linens, oxfords in crisp pastel palette and an array of colorful basics. Live beats provided by DJ Callum David, a.k.a. DJ Vinimal will set the show sailing on a breezy summer cruise.

A pop-up exhibit, open from 12 noon until 9 in the evening, will give the guests something extra to look forward to. Staged in a nautical themed store, guests can soak up on the seafaring vibe of Giordano. Furthermore, fashion bloggers will get to show their eye for fashion by their personally-styled mannequins which will be exhibited at the booth. Fashion fans and followers will get the chance to meet these bloggers at certain times throughout the day: Aisa Ipac, David Guison, Alyssa Lapid, Tracy Ayson, Kookie Buhain, Mikyle Quizon, Dani Baretto, Miko Carreon, and Enciso sisters, Vern and Verniece.

Also part of the exhibit will be a showcase of World Without Strangers prints done by local artists, Soleil Ignacio, Chi Chi Monster and Barry Ambrosio. Giordano will be giving away 45 shirts featuring these ironed-on prints.

Not to miss out on this happening event, a Twitter/Instagram booth will also be set up on the pop-up exhibit. Anyone can join and post photos using the hashtag #GiordanoPhFW and get photo print outs for free!  Freebies await those who stay connected to Instagram or Twitter during the event.

In addition to all that, sweet discounts will be given to shoppers on the day of the show. Special discount coupons will be distributed at the pop-up exhibit which will give 20 percent off on all regular-priced items.  Meanwhile, privilege card holders will get 15 percent off and walk-in customers will get 10 percent off.

Giving Minnie Mouse Some Love
MOUSE

The fashion industry has always been obsessed with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. If I had to list down every fashion moment that they have, I would have been finished listing down just the half by Christmas! I don't recall them being in any cover of a magazine though--up to now.

Minnie Mouse makes her debut cover for Love Magazine's Fifth Anniversary issue. The cover was shot by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggote with styling by Katie Grant.

The issue also features Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Cara Delevinge, Edie Campbell and Georgia May Jagger in alternate covers.

Each model wears bespoke ears by Gucci, Loewe, Miu Miu and Marc by Marc Jacobs. These designers were asked to interpret Minnie Mouse's iconic ears and bow. I think they did an awesome job!

Naturally, I am in love with all these covers!!

I want a copy of the one with Minnie Mouse herself, of course!!

LOVE 10 “The Sweetie Issue” Autumn/Winter 2013 will be available on newsstands starting July 29.

Random Keme Vol. 2

Hey ya'll! Sorry for the lack of blog posts. Been really busy lately. Anyways, here are some random stuff that's been happening to me lately.

I recently visited the UP Babaylan tambayan and they hooked me up with a copy of their book, Anong Pangalan Mo Sa Gabi at Iba Pang Mga Tanong Sa LGBT. It's a really good and amazing book that will uphold the LGBT community and will hopefully educate others about Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity. If you want a copy, it's available at the UP Center for Women's Studies for only P250! Oh and yes, I got a haircut! My bangs are back!!

Went to the Yayoi Kusama exhibit at Ayala Museum. It's such a great and inspiring exhibit!! I really love Yayoi Kusama and I'm very grateful that I was able to see her works in the flesh. The exhibit will run 'till September and I highly suggest that you go!

Picture taking weren't allowed at the Ayala Museum but I managed to sneak in this photo. I really squealed when I stumbled upon this. I'm literally obsessed with all things Alice in Wonderland and it was my first time to find out that Yayoi Kusama did her own interpretation. I'm now in the hunt for a copy of this book. I seriously need this in my life.

Here's what I wore to the exhibit. Of course, I had to wear polka dots!
( Pique Polo Shirt-H&M | Polka Dots Apron-Bangkok | Skinny Jeans- Bangkok | Sneakers-Converse | Patent Leather
Bag- Giordano)

Uniqlo's currently having a sale and I hoarded! I got an Andy Warhol Statue of Liberty tee, an Andy Warhol Campbell's Soup Steteco shorts and totally cute Mickey Mouse underwear.

I've been really so busy recently and it's great that I get to squeeze in this random update in my blog. I miss blogging regularly but I guess random updates works too.

I Love Kusama at Ayala Museum
MOUSE

Ayala Museum, with the support of the Japan Foundation-Manila, will open the exhibition I Love Kusama at its Ground Floor Gallery and Third Floor Glass Lane beginning July 16, 2013.

Presented under the heading of its newest exhibition program, Collectors Series, the Yayoi Kusama works featured in I Love Kusama digs into the treasure troves of Lito and Kim Camacho, one of the leading collectors of Kusama. Collectors Series, through curated thematic exhibitions, aims to expand the understanding and appreciation of local and international art by providing the opportunity to view artworks that are usually not seen in public, especially a body of work of a single artist whom a collector admires.

Yayoi Kusama, born in Japan, 1929, is one of the leading and most influential figures of the avant-garde scene and is credited to be an important precursor of various art movements which took shape between the 1950s and 60s, namely Minimalism, Feminism and Pop Art. Kusama remains active and relevant at 84, as attested by her works being one of the main highlights of the recently concluded ArtBasel HK.

Notable Kusama installations include her immersive infinity mirror rooms that have been featured in institutions like the Whitney Museum of American Art and Tate Modern, and her iconic spotted pumpkin sculptures seen on both indoor and outdoor exhibitions in different countries. In 2011, Kusama also worked with fashion designer Marc Jacobs for a line of whimsical products and corresponding window displays for Louis Vuitton.

With the assistance of the Camachos and the Japan Foundation-Manila, and the guidance of Ota Fine Arts, Yayoi Kusama Studio, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the exhibition at Ayala Museum will be the first major Yayoi Kusama show in the Philippines.

I Love Kusama is held in celebration of the 40th Year of the ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation and the Philippines-Japan Friendship Month. The exhibition will be on view starting July 16, 2013 until September 1, 2013. As part of its education component, Ayala Museum has invited Akira Tatehata, one of the world's leading experts on Kusama and the curator the Japanese Pavilion during the 45th Venice Biennale in 1993 (when Kusama represented the country) for a one-time lecture on August 10, 2013, 4PM, Ayala Museum Ground Floor Lobby.

Lusting Over Jeremy Scott x Adidas Originals F/W 2013
MOUSE
fabgelous

The ever eccentric Jeremy Scott always brings his unique perspective of fashion to the table, often referencing pop culture from the past up to the present.

In an ongoing partnership with Adidas Originals since 2003, Jeremy continues to design unisex apparel and footwear that is high energy, surreal and most certainly fun, playing with bright prints and unexpected shapes.

Never failing to surprise, Jeremy Scott’s fall/winter 2013 collection is a fusion of ideas; shock neon colours, metallic materials and reinterpreted prints from the past are used on some of Adidas’ most iconic styles.

Carried throughout the collection is a take on camo with a neon twist featured on a sliced jacket, gartered sweat pants, unisex t-shirt, unisex down puffer jacket and the JS Instinct Hi, while a reversible floral print bomber is just as attention-grabbing.

Jeremy Scott has always been my favorite designer because his playful aesthetic really jives with my personal style.

Once this collection drops, I'm definitely getting my hands (or should I say feet) on the Zebra Sneakers and Neon Camo Hi-Tops! I can't wait!!
